words can be vile,
so i called up a friend to ask about my smile,
she says forget it, it is not worth to run a mile,
i thought, oh cool,
look at us, old school.
my friend says, there is nothing more to an act of betrayal,
and we weren’t talking about being loyal.
she pointed out where does it hurt,
i said it is not that, but honestly that was it,
“trust issues,” she says.
That’s absurd.
i wanna punch people in the guts of their stomach,
slap twice harder than their previous last remarks,
break their heads and smash their legs,
she says, “you’re doing great babe!”
i feel the same, without a name.
i needed to talk someone, and i had a person, only one.
that fact made me breathe a while,
that fact made me believe, that is awesome reality,
we don’t have to do the function thing,
the act cool but you’re just ugly, that’s the thing,
basic, society thing.
she said, “you’re letting the crazy call you crazy,”
that’s the thing!
i asked a friend, how’s life treating,
she says, “I’m expecting,”
i can’t believe, i’m becoming an aunt again,
nah, that’s the lie, weren’t you waiting?
i write while you are writing,
and if you are writing while i had been helping,
life is great,
i can live it fine, without all these romantic sugar-coating.
“you have, submitted your paper?”
that’s a friend, a human being proper,
but beyond that, we grew up together.
i can’t help, we go way back, we know how this world suffers,
so when reality gets too close,
i think for me, that is better.
