Had I,
of dull snacks and fat cats,
Enough!
Had I,
of death threats and mad hats,
of girls with nothing sad,
and boys with nothing to be glad,
of this world on its edge of collapse,
thinking about friends who took that step;
Enough,
Had I,
of distraught hope, and momentary joy,
all of which that created a ploy,
testing waters,
feeling scattered,
dreaming of being undivided,
E – N – O – U – G – H
Had I,
of this entire century,
post-modernity,
hurm, not so strictly,
but maybe, had I. Been enough,
the next century?
That shall be one lacking scrutiny,
amplified maternity,
men protecting,
happy & happy & happy,
you may love me,
I’d learn to love me,
we will watch a movie,
and we will eat dates before that ever happens!
because we,
and we will have a family,
we will go for a picnic,
we will help each other to the clinic,
all of it!
Enough, had I,
rubbing my eyes.
Forgotten had I, applying mascara,
this morning.
